'Somnia' (version for Voice & Piano) | The Red House, November 2024
A note from the performers
Somnia delves into the world of dreams to examine questions of identity and transformation. The programme weaves together music from classical, contemporary and folk genres, scored for vocal chamber ensemble. Curated by myself and Lana Bode, Somnia is designed to be adaptable to a variety of performance spaces and can be delivered with either the full vocal chamber ensemble or in a pared-down version for voice and piano. In either iteration, Somnia provides a space for audience contemplation through thoughtful musical sequencing, staging, improvisation and lighting design.
Our previous work includes our debut album I and Silence (★★★★★ BBC Music Magazine) and performances at the Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Oxford International Song Festival, Aldeburgh and throughout Europe. Recent appearances at Britten Pears Arts, Royal Opera House and the Ludlow Piano Festival have played to sold-out audiences.
